2009 New Stars: Alesha Dixon

Remember "Scandalous"? The ladies who sang it?
Many people don't really remember MisTeeq and as well this UK garage girlband does not did well after this single. It was a worldwide smash and a one-hit wonder. Well, basically they break off to go for the solo route.

Alesh Dixon is one of the MisTeeq girls who made it with this so called debut of hers, (as she had another flop which wasn't released) The Alesha Show. Continued with her fun partying elements in Misteeq and embrace more soul, pop, RnB and all other spices which makes her aren't as sweet as the other pop-tarts and yet, less serious than her previous approach. She's an entertainer, I would say.

Gather fame from her winning the UK's hugely popular reality, Dancing With The Stars, she made a successful debut with her first top 3 hit "The Boy Does Nothing" and a good follow-up of top 10 hit of " Breath Slow". The previous one is a fun, party song while the later is the emotional-encouragin ballad.

From her debut, The Alesha Show, she greatly shows her versality of her musical route and yet its always had a place in the pop-world for a music like hers. She might not be as big as Lady Gaga, but I am sure she can be a household name. Looking forward to see what is the height she is extending to in 2009.

2009 New Stars: Lady Gaga

With the beginning of 2009, a new hits " Let's Dance" tooped the billboard chart and by record it already topping the world's charts by end of January of 2009. It's a wonder when this track was released back in April 08. After enxtensive of 8 months working on the airplays and clubs, hard work finally pays off. Joanne Stefani Germanotta or best known by her stage name Lady GaGa, is officially a star shining.

She had performed in clubs for the past 3 years to develop as an artist as she is now, and the follow-up singles "Poker Face" & "EH Eh(Nothing Else I Can Say)" are also gaining the momentum as the previous one. Her debut, The Fame, which took her about 2 years to produce are also welcoming accept by music critics worldwide.

Her signature fashion sense which closely reassemble her music style had won her much attention despite being label as an Ashlee Simpson being package into Kylie Minogue. I would say that Lady Gaga is a product when American pop tapped into Euro's electro-pop. She is definitely one of the 9 new stars to watch out for in 2009.
