1)Mariah Carey-The Memoirs Of an Imperfect Angel (2009)
Well, she definitely always on my FAV10 every year since DAYDREAM. I am thrilled that when Mimi mention she went back to basic is back to DAYDREAM/BUTTERFLY era, instead Tommy Mottala era (Not much a fans of this era). This Memoirs is part one of the Angel era, and the choice of songs seems less attractive than previous E=MC2, but yet the ballads are stunning. I didn't feel she is going back to the roots instead she to stunning out another side and level of her soft, slow side of musical style.
2)Lady Gaga-The Fame(2008)/The Fame Monster(2009) All I wanted for an artist package is a fresh and exciting image, thrilling MVs, and lots of great singles from the same album. Gaga had done it right. From "Let's Dance", "Pokerface" to the 5th no.1 "Bad Romance", The Fame had spun out at least 6 singles, with the 7th on the way "Telephone" ft Beyonce. She got all the elements in the package. 2009 definitely a Gaga year.
(The Fame Monster is a stand alone project, however also available as The Fame Monster/The Fame package double disc. I called it the Fame era as both musically identical, with the Monster's track a more mature sound than previous.)
3)Beyonce- I Am... Sasha Fierce(2008)
In 2009, I am... album had release another 6 singles (Halo, Diva, Ego, Broken-Hearted Girl, Sweet Dreams, Video Phone), a remix album (Beyond and Above..Remix), Platinum edition (with all bonus tracks and MV DVD). This album had done so well in 2009, how couldn't it become one of the FAV10 again for 2 years in a row? I just love it so much, and this album achieve the most singles to enter Billboard Hot 100 from an album with a record of 7.
4)Rihanna-Rated R(2009)
If Beyonce's I am... album is the best album release in 2008, Rated R by Rihanna will be the best R&B album in 2009. Her domestic drama in the early of the year, causes the inspirations to this album to a darker and edgier side of her. Without the drama, she still continues this direction as the success of "Disturbia"had reveal her desire to change. She is one of few artist that manage to pull off a new sound everytime a new album comes out and her grew bigger each time. The lead single "Russian Routte" might had not score a no 1, but the album sales are going strong.
5)B.E.P.- The E.N.D.(2009)
Black Eyed Peas are the only act that are not solo female. The Energy Never Dies album had brought the future music to us. BEP had did it again with this partying album. "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling" are the 2009's biggest singles which carries from beginning till end of the year. Boom single are unable to miss in many TV series and big blockbuster movie soundtrack (e.g. G.I. Joe). The END showcases a whole new level of futuristic American dance and party music. 4th and 5th single announces as "Imma Be" and "Rock That Body"

6)Whitney Houston - I Look To you (2009)
After a hiatus of 6 years, she is ready get back to the limelights to do what she do best, ballads and uplifting songs. No more wannabes songs to be the hippest(hip-hop) as like previous album "Watchulookinat". From promo single, "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" to lead singles "Million Dollar Bill" and "I Look To You", definitely had satisfied me a lot. This is one of the best comeback album by great(high-profile) singers, without trying to hard and just be comfortable in their own shoes.

7)Little Boots - Hands(2008)
And you think I am an old man just listen to big names? Well, I dare you doesn't even notice her. She was PUSH artist of MTV Asia of 2009. I think this is one of the best album released in 2009. Electro pop, dance, and pop. Favourite singles like Remedy, Earthquake, New In Town, Meddle are not top 10 sucess singles but it did grew on me. Never notice how she did in U.S. side, but seems like another Goldfrapp. Good music not much of commercial success.

8)Taylor Swift -Fearless (2008)
Had any of her song move you this year? Or the Kanye West chaos earn your pity? Or the Taylor-Taylor hook-up caught your attnetion more? The Lead single "Love Story" had made her a global success from a country act. Upon on its re-release, the album achieve a record of 9 singles charting the Billboard Hot 100 in the same week including the official singles, Love Story, You Belong With Me, and Fifteen. This is base on digital downloads alone and feat which no other female artist holds before. She is one of most successful crossover country act of the millenium and also the most singles charted on Billboard Hot 100 for the 2000-2009 era.
9)Agnes - Dance Love Pop(2008)
She another dance act that releases energy from Europe across the globe. "Release Me" had become my dance track of the year which "I need You Now" also achieving the same momentum. Agnes is a Swedish Idol winner, and also the biggest export since 90s's Ace Of Base, Roxette.. This album is a tranformation of her musical route from Leona Lewis style to R&B/Dance. The lead international Lead single "Release Me" is a huge success across the clubbing scene worldwide including U.S. However, the album is not internationally release while their team awaiting another success single fomr the album. "On and On" will be chosen to be the key of her album success. I think they should drop the plan and move to a new album.
10) Utada - This Is The One(2009)
She is really a talent, but without any luck. With all eyes ready for her to be the one Asian sensation to success in crossover to English language medium , she had not gather the right attention. This album is safe and love by US radio stations, but due to her health problem the promo duties are put aside. Dirty Desire is the upbeat track to release as lastest single to promote. Previous single "Come back to me" is a success to me, while I can't get enough of it. It all the elements of a hit single but too bad, it didn't chart at all. Non-singles tracks like The One, FYI (Merry Xmas Mr Lawrence) are rotating non-stop in my mp3.
